Mingling filmmakers. Coastal foodie creations. New, independent cinematic talent. Fish jumping and pelicans landing. This is how the stage will be set for the 2nd annual Reel Deal Film Festival in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Screenwriters, producers, and directors, along with independent film up-and-comers will review, discuss, and select the most creative and impactful projects from more than 100 films selected for presentation. Expect surprises with student films, shorts, public service announcements and new media including TikTok videos. Presentations will include full-length features, too, comedies, dramas, a faith-based category, documentaries and more.

This year’s Opening Night Gala, a red-carpet event, will feature Surviving Pulse, a real and uplifting chronicle of survivors’ lives following the 2016 mass shooting at an OrlandoAstounding and emotional, it is a must see for Central Floridians and the LBGTQ community, ages 13 and older. The Gala, offering single, group and VIP tickets will be held at the city’s ultramodern, riverfront Brannon Center.

Directors’ Showcase at The Hub on Canal to feature The Best of the Fest.
The following two days hold a full schedule of screenings, film blocks, a directors’ showcase and a sustainability panel, all held at the Brannon Center, SpringHill Suites by Marriot and The Hub on Canal, an artists’ incubator in the heart of downtown.
Between scheduled events, you’ll have time to explore the Indian River, walk along the beach, or sample local restaurants and galleries. Maybe scout about for a surf lesson, a kayak expedition and other Things To Do to create some tales of your own!
The Stories and the Glitter on the Top
Once the stories have been seen and heard, it’s back to the oceanfront SpringHill Suites by Marriott, for the Rosie Awards Breakfast to round out the festival.
