Parks & Trails Update - October 31, 2022
Volusia County is urging residents to avoid all structures at the beach. Many have been compromised and could collapse at a moment's notice without warning. This includes seawalls, walkovers, and piers.

All Volusia County coastal parks are open, Frank Rendon Park (Daytona Beach Shore) and Lighthouse House Point Park (Ponce Inlet) are closed indefinitely. Partial beach driving is open.

The following parks and facilities are reported closed. Please contact Parks and Trails at 386-736-5953 for the most up-to-date information.

  • Highbanks boat ramp, DeBary
  • Lake Ashby boat ramp, New Smyrna Beach
  • Lemon Bluff boat ramp, Osteen

  • Menard May Park Fishing Pier, Edgewater

The Daytona Beach Pier is closed until further notice
Smyrna Dunes - Please be aware beach access walkway No. 3 is currently closed due to beach erosion. Please use walkways 4, 5, 6 ,7 and 8 to access the Atlantic Ocean beaches.
Canaveral National Seashore - Backcountry hiking is closed due to Hurricane Ian. Apollo Beach parking area six is closed.

The fishing pier was severely damaged by a sailboat that broke free from its mooring. Menard May Park may be closed over the weekend until the work crews can complete thorough cleaning of the grounds and restrooms.
