Why I Keep Choosing the New Smyrna Beach Area for My Florida Staycations

Living in Florida means there are plenty of beach destinations to choose from, but I always find myself returning to the New Smyrna Beach Area. It has become my favorite place to slow down for a few days, enjoy the coast, and recharge without traveling far from home.

My first visit happened almost by accident. I was looking for a weekend getaway with beautiful beaches and great local restaurants, but I ended up discovering so much more. Since then, every trip has felt a little different. I revisit favorite places every time, but there's always a new restaurant to try, a different neighborhood to explore, or another experience waiting to be discovered.

Choosing Where to Stay

One of my favorite parts of planning the trip is deciding where to stay. I've enjoyed waking up close to the beach before, so this year I'm looking at some of the Staycation offers to try somewhere new.

Those familiar moments are what first made me fall in love with the New Smyrna Beach Area. Returning each year feels less like visiting somewhere new and more like coming back to a favorite tradition.

 Every stay reminds me why I keep coming back. The beaches are as beautiful as I remember, but there is always something different to experience. There are new restaurants to try, seasonal events filling the calendar, and recommendations that continue introducing me to places I haven't explored yet. 

I'm especially looking forward to returning in October for Coastal Catch Restaurant Month, when restaurants throughout the New Smyrna Beach Area celebrate the local dining scene with special menus and dishes. It gives me another reason to revisit some favorite spots while discovering a few new ones along the way.
