Nothing says romance like cozy restaurants, charming coastal towns, and relaxing spas in which you can forget the world on focus on each other. Make the New Smyrna Beach Area your destination for quality couple time—a weekend getaway here is all it takes to rekindle the spark.

Romantic Waterfront Stays

Check in to one of the Signature Escape Suites at the Salty Mermaid Oceanfront Hotel. You’ll fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the pristine, sandy beach just outside your window. The rooms features a clean, modern design and unobstructed views of the ocean, just steps away. The luxury suites also include a complimentary yoga mat, which you can use to greet the day as you watch the sunrise over the water.

For a more old-time feel, you can stay at the Riverview Hotel and Spa, and enjoy the included hot breakfast while planning your day. Each of its 18 rooms is uniquely decorated, but all exude the charm of an “Old Florida” atmosphere. Whether you opt for a poolside cabana room or a riverview suite with its own private balcony, you’re sure to feel cocooned in luxury at this inn. You’ll be within walking distance of many restaurants, shops, and

Dining à Deux

If you’re dreaming of a cozy, romantic spot to dine, Third Wave Café and Wine Bar fits the bill. Their global-themed menu features a wealth of flavors from the Mediterranean coast, and many dishes highlight the bounty of fresh seafood from the New Smyrna Beach Area. Of course, you’ll have a wide selection of wines and cocktails to choose from, to complement any meal.

Take in the views from the rooftop dining at Avanu on Flagler while enjoying some delicious Polynesian-inspired cuisine. This trendy, vibrant spot is perfect for casual meals, but also for a romantic evening. Make sure to try some of their creative cocktails—one sip and you’ll be transported to the tropics!

For a more casual evening out, stop in to CorkScrew Bar and Grille. Whether you spend the evening there or just pop in during one of the monthly 1st Saturday on Canal Street Sip & Stroll, you’ll enjoy the comfort food and traditional Southern fare.

Exploring the NSB Area Together

While you’re here, spend some time exploring the lush scenery from one of the many recreational trails that wind their way along the region’s blueways and through diverse ecosystems. Smyrna Dunes Park is spread over 184 acres on the southern shore of Ponce de Leon Inlet. Check out the 2 miles of boardwalk, or venture farther along the looped trail to find scenic overlooks of the Atlantic and the Indian River.

Nothing says romantic Southern charm like live oaks draped with Spanish moss, and you’ll find plenty of this view at Dunlawton Sugar Mill Gardens in Port Orange. The gardens, which are maintained by volunteers, are inviting and worth the time to visit.

You can also pedal through town or along one of the many beaches. Stop into Pedego Electric Bikes and pick up a pair of bikes, as well as the included helmets and locks, and hit the road. The bikes combine the comfort of a beach cruiser with high-end performance and easy-to-use features, so all you have to do is enjoy the scenery.

Relaxation for Two: Indulge and Unwind

Imagine your stress melting away as you and your partner enjoy a couple’s massage at The Spa at Venetian Bay. Choose from hot stone or Swedish massage and let your trouble fade away. You can also sign up for a couple’s pedicure, which comes in a package with the couple’s massage and includes chocolate-covered strawberries and a glass of Champagne to celebrate yourselves.

Of course, strolling along the 17 miles of sand in New Smyrna Beach, hand in hand with your toes in the sand, is also a great way to relax and connect. Whether you take in the pinks and yellows of a glorious sunrise along the surf, or cuddle in a blanket on the beach as the sun dips below the western horizon, this is the place to shut out the world and focus on just the two of you.

With so many places to explore, dine, and relax as a couple, the New Smyrna Beach Area is your prime destination to celebrate your relationship.
