A Fun-Filled Memorial Day Weekend

Where better to kick off summer than in the New Smyrna Beach Area? With miles of sandy beaches and trails to explore, numerous waterways to paddle along, and exciting indoor activities, our destination provides countless opportunities to learn, relax, and have fun over the Memorial Day weekend.

Outdoor Adventure

There’s nothing like wiggling your toes in the sand or splashing in the ocean waves to signal the start of summer living. With its 17 miles of white sandy beaches, the New Smyrna Beach Area has you covered. Whether you choose to visit the Flagler Avenue beach, after exploring the neighborhood’s restaurants and shops, or opt for a more natural setting at Canaveral National Seashore, you’re sure to find a place to lay out your towel and take in the ocean air.

If getting out on the water is more your thing, check out one of the many boat and paddleboard rental shops in the area. At RiverWitch Kayak Rentals and Tours, sign up for a guided kayak tour, where you’ll be amazed at the wildlife as you paddle through the scenic landscape of this area’s diverse ecosystem. From pink spoonbills and egrets to underwater wonders, like manatees and dolphins, you’re guaranteed to make some lasting memories on this outing.

For those seeking a bit more of a thrill, try a surfing lesson with Nichols Surf Shop. Learn to catch a wave during a 2-hour class, in which you’ll learn safety guidelines, techniques, and general water knowledge. And don’t worry—you’ll start on land, so you won’t end up all wet before you’re ready!
