With warm Florida weather and a collection of courses surrounded by natural landscapes, the New Smyrna Beach Area offers golfers plenty of opportunities to get out on the green. Local courses offer a mix of traditional layouts, natural Florida scenery, practice facilities, and modern golf technology.

Golfers ready to tee off can explore these five courses throughout the New Smyrna Beach Area.

Hidden Lakes Golf Club

Hidden Lakes Golf Club combines a player-friendly layout with the natural scenery of New Smyrna Beach.

The public 18-hole, par-69 course winds among lakes, creeks, pines, and oak trees along the Turnbull Bay estuary. Its mix of long and short holes offers a fair challenge for golfers of different skill levels, while the surrounding habitat offers opportunities to spot Florida wildlife, including ospreys, sandhill cranes, and other native birds.

Golfers looking to work on their game can use the practice facility, putting green, and short-game area known as the Scoring Zone. After a round, The 19th Hole offers food and drinks in a casual clubhouse setting.

The Preserve at Turnbull Bay

The Preserve at Turnbull Bay offers an 18-hole, par-72 course stretching approximately 6,600 yards through a nature preserve along Turnbull Bay.

The course features Seashore Paspalum greens along with Bermuda grass tees, roughs, and fairways. Tree- and water-lined fairways add variety to the round while maintaining the course's connection to the surrounding Florida landscape.

The Preserve also features 15 covered hitting bays equipped with Toptracer Range technology. Golfers can track shots and distances, practice different parts of their game, or use virtual golf and interactive games. The course is open year-round to both the public and members.

The Club at Venetian Bay

The Club at Venetian Bay offers 18 holes of golf along with a collection of practice, dining, and entertainment experiences.

The 18-hole course includes full practice grounds and GPS-equipped carts. Golfers can also visit The Drop Zone, a covered Toptracer range where technology tracks real ball flight and provides immediate shot information.

The experience continues after sunset, with Venetian Bay offering nine-hole night golf on select evenings as well as illuminated Toptracer bays. Tap In Tavern provides an onsite option for food and drinks before or after a round.

Spruce Creek Country Club

Located in Port Orange, Spruce Creek Country Club offers one of the area's most distinctive golf settings.

The semi-private club sits within the Spruce Creek Fly-In community, where private aircraft and golf share the landscape. Its Bill Amick-designed 18-hole, par-72 course runs alongside the community's private airstrip on portions of the front nine before opening into a back nine featuring numerous water hazards.

The course includes a full-size driving range, putting green, chipping area, and practice bunker. Limited public tee times are available in addition to membership options, making it possible for visitors to experience this unusual combination of golf and aviation.

Cypress Head Golf Club

Also located in Port Orange, Cypress Head Golf Club offers an 18-hole public course designed by Arthur Hills and Mike Dasher. The course features wide fairways, generous greens, and multiple tee options that accommodate golfers of varying skill levels.

Golfers can warm up or work on their game at the full practice facility, which includes a grass-tee driving range, putting green, chipping green, pitching target green, and practice bunker. Tee times can also be booked online, making it easy for visitors to plan a round during their stay.

After playing, golfers can stop at Flagsticks Bar & Grill for food and drinks overlooking the course.

The New Smyrna Beach Area's golf scene gives players several ways to enjoy time on the course, with traditional layouts, natural Florida scenery, modern practice technology, and even a golf course set alongside an active residential airstrip.
